With cutaneous and hypodermic wounds, as for example chronic wounds, traumas, excisions or deep burns characterised by a massive loss of the dermis, Hyalomatrix ® is recommended.
Hyalomatrix ® is a two-ply, flexible and adaptable 3D-fiber-matrix, made from HYAFF ®, a benzyl ester of the hyaluronic acid and of a semipermeable silicone layer.
Because most wounds of this kind are often open infected wounds with a stagnant healing process, it is important to close these wounds in order to keep away germs, but at the same time give the exudate the chance to exudate and to speed up the healing process.
The hyaluronic acidic fiber allows a construction of dermal tissue as a basis for healing full-layered deficiencies. Hence, the induction of a neo-dermis formation can be regarded as a "kick start" for the healing process. At the same time the semipermeable silicone layer keeps away germs, gives, however, the skin the air necessary for healing; besides, it preserves the humidity in the wound. Moreover, the wound healing process can be observed painlessly from outside through the clear silicone layer.
Hyalomatrix ® is sewn to the edges of the wound or is fixed by means of surgical clamps.
As a rule, the unique application of Hyalomatrix ® is enough to produce vital, well vascularized tissue and to favour, besides, the reepithelisation or skin graft acceptance, because Hyalomatrix ® can remain on the wound up to 21 days.
For the optimal adaptation to the wound size, Hyalomatrix ® is available in 3 different dimensions: 5x5cm, 10x10cm, 10x20cm.
Hyalomatrix ® is a bioinductive and biological skin substitute free from components of xenogene and allogene origin and is absorbed up to 100% by the human Body.
